Human Microbiome

What is understood to represent the human body needs to be redefined. The human microbiome, the trillions of microbes hosted by each human body, means that the human body is not simply human, but exists as a human-microbial superorganism. The mutualistic relationship between the human host and its microbial collective is so vital to human health that one might consider the microbiome another functioning human body organ. However, unlike human body organs, the human microbiome is constantly shifting, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse.

The goal of microbiome therapeutics is to rebalance the human microbiome when it becomes corrupted, much like updating a computer with new software. Not only do Quorum’s microbiome therapeutics help restore microbiome homeostasis, they also help restore human body organ function.
